Equal Opportunities

Q        As an employer are we obliged to have an Equal Opportunities Policy?

A        No, it is not a legal requirement, but it is considered best practice and can go some way to protecting the Company in the event of a discrimination claim.

Q        We are a private sector employer, are we required by law to monitor the diversity of our workforce?

A        No, there is no legal obligation to do so.  However, if you tender for public sector contracts you will need to introduce policies to monitor equality in order to provide outsourced services to the public sector.
