Information and Consultation Forums

Q        I have 50 employees, am I legally obliged to set up an Information and Consultation forum?

A        Not unless you receive a valid request from employees.  Some employers have elected to set up consultative forums ahead of receiving a statutory request but you are not obliged to do so.  However, if 10% of the employees ask to establish an information and consultation forum you must reach a negotiated agreement.
