Intellectual Property Rights

Q        Our business is constantly developing new and innovative ideas and employ a number of people who regularly produce original work.  How do I ensure that this information belongs to the Company and not to the individual?

A        The easiest way is to ensure you have an appropriate Intellectual Property Rights clause in their contracts of employment.  This will ensure that anything they produce in the course of their employment will belong to the Company. In some circumstances you may also want to include a Copyright clause and ask key employees to sign a Business Protection letter.
