More Case Studies from Effective People

Effective People has implemented a number of employee communication forums in companies of varying sizes to ensure that they create an effective communication process rather than having to adopt the default provisions.

Communication forums improve the interactive flow of communication from executives to all staff and supplement the normal cascade of information through management.  In addition, clients have chosen to use the forum as an opportunity to encourage employees to become more involved in the decision-making process within the company.

Effective People has conducted focus groups, communicating the forum's value and function to all employees, as well as conducting the nomination and balloting process for electing representatives and delivering employee representative training.  All clients have reported that there has been improved flow of communication and that their forums provided a very successful vehicle for employee involvement in the management of the company.  It some cases it has been possible to measure improved productivity as a result of implementing the Employee Forum.

A major corporate client was experiencing a major upturn in business in one particular sector and needed to recruit significant numbers of production staff to 24/7 shifts to meet customer demand.

Effective People project managed the recruitment of all staff, made recommendations on effective shift systems that would ensure 24/7 coverage with the minimum number of shifts and managed the communication process to the employees.  We also recommended alternative sourcing of candidates and developed candidate evaluations and testing that reduced the management workload whilst improving quality of candidates attending interview.

A manufacturing company within the engineering sector required a staffing solution to meet steep demand cycles for their products.  Together with the management team, Effective People designed, piloted and implemented a flexible working arrangement which met the on-time time delivery requirements of the business.

In the process, productivity increased significantly (15% in the first two months) which has been sustained to date.  In addition, we implemented a staffing solution which ensured that the Company had a pool of skilled interim workers to meet the demand cycles and supplemented the existing workforce.

The client contacted Effective People expressing a desire to obtain Investors in People (IiP) status.  Through discussions with management, we drew up the strategy required to achieve status, training needs analysis and an action plan.  We assisted the organisation in implementing an Employee Forum, a new competency based appraisal system, as well as developing, sourcing and delivering a suite of management training programmes which allowed them to achieve Investors in People status.
