Q My employee's partner has just given birth to twins. Does that mean he's entitled to double the amount of paternity leave and parental leave?A No and yes. Paternity leave is two weeks to be taken within 56 days' of the birth regardless of how many children are born as a result of the pregnancy, whereas parental leave is per child. Therefore, in the event of twins being born, both parents would be entitled to take 26 weeks' parental leave each (13 weeks per child). |
